Patricia C. Liner, RN Scholarship

This scholarship is created in memory of Patricia C. Liner who provided service to Haywood County and its citizens as a volunteer in the medical field and who often said that the United States and its people have provided her with the greatest opportunity to advance professionally. The scholarship fund will be available to students in the Haywood County Public schools who are pursing an education leading towards a career in the nursing field. Amount of scholarships will be determined by the money available from the trust.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Graduating Senior from Haywood County Schools
• Financial need
• Pursuing a degree in nursing
• Involvement in school and community service
• Must attend accredited community/technical college or university

PROCESS
The scholarship committee of the Haywood County Schools Foundation will make a recommendation for the recipient of the scholarship. The selection process shall consist of a review and evaluation of the scholarship application and possibly a personal interview. The Board of Directors of the Foundation will make the final decision on the recipient of this scholarship. The Board’s decision shall be final. The Haywood County Schools Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt charitable foundation, will administer the scholarship fund.

PAYMENT OF AWARDS
Payment of scholarship awards will be made at the beginning of the school year or at the beginning of each semester. Checks will be made payable to the school for student’s account and will be forwarded to the financial aid office. A copy of the previous semester grades is required to be submitted to the Foundation before further payment will occur.
